Kick Butt Characters Giveaway Hop! (INT)

Hey guys and welcome to my stop on the 2nd Annualt Kick-Butt Characters giveaway hop, co-hosted by Good Choice Reading and I Am A Reader, Not A Writer. There are almost 150 blogs participating, so make sure to hop along in the linky at the bottom of this post!

As the title says, this giveaway is all about the characters who can kick some butt! And I definitely love them :) It was hard to make up my mind, but I'm offering you a choice of ONE of the books below. If you already own that particular book, you can also choose another one of the same series. The books will be ordered via The Book Depository, but please check the full rules below!! If there's another YA book with a kick-butt character that you really really want but isn't on my list, that can be arranged too ;)

So here's what I've picked out for you, my dears... click the covers for the goodreads description!

Rules
  • Open INTERNATIONALLY provided The Book Depository ships to you. Just fill out the rafflecopter, and please don't leave your email in the comments!
  • One entry per person/household. Cheaters will be disqualified. I check  every single entry before picking a winner. Some cheating attempts I've come across are appalling.
  • I will order the cheapest edition available from my location on TBD, so covers may vary. If you prefer ebooks, you can also choose that instead of a paperback, provided it doesn't cost more and that I can gift it to you on Amazon.
  • You must be at least 13 or have permission from your parent to enter (blah).
  • The winner will be notified by email and has 48 hours to respond, then I'll pick a new one.
  • Once I've ordered the book, I'm no longer responsible for what happens with it.
That's it! If you have questions, put them in the comments or tag me on Twitter (@Butterfly_Ghost)

Good luck, and keep kicking those butts as you hop along and check out the other blogs! ;)

Stacking the Shelves: Derailed and in Pieces, Withering

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews to showcase all the books and other bookish things we  got in the past week, no matter whether it's for review, bought, won, gifted, borrowed...

Unlike last week, I had quite a haul this time! Apart from Wither, which I finally bought in paperback because I'd been resisting its lure for forever, it was all ebooks though.

So first the ones I bought:

Wither, by Lauren DeStefano
The Grimm Diaries Prequels (1-6), by Cameron Jace
Untouched, by Jus Accardo
Christmas Kisses, by H.M. Ward

I loved Jus Accardo's Touch, so a novella from Kale's point of view sounded awesome! And the christmas-y book... well. I don't usually read holiday-themed books, but I really like the cover for this one and I read a good review and it sounded fun and it was cheap *shrug* I'll see how I like it. It's short, too. For The Grimm Diaries, I was part of the promo and just couldn't resist getting them :)

For review:

Pieces, by Michelle Davidson Argyle
Florence,by Ciye Cho

I'm part of the blog tour for Pieces in February and am currently reading the first book, The Breakaway. I'm not very far in yet but enjoying what I've read. I was requested to review Florence by the author, and I'm curious about it because it'll be my first mermaid book.

Won:

Derailed, by Alyssa Rose Ivy

I've been curious about this one for a while now because it's New Adult and the premise sounds interesting. I hope I'll get to read it soon, and I also have Alyssa's book Flight on my kindle, waiting to be read... I need to do an ebook-reading-intervention soon >.<

Oh, and check out the giveaways in my sidebar while you're here! Some of them are still quite low on entries ;)
I've also signed up for the 2013 TBR Pile Reading Challenge and you can check out what I'm planning to read here.

What do you guys think? Have you read any of these books? And what did you get this week? Link me up in the comments :) (Also, if any of you have genius suggestions for Xmas gifts for friends&family... I'm listening.)

Teaser Tuesday: Touch and Crash

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

At the moment I'm reading Touch by Jus Accardo as a paperback and Crash by Nicole Williams as an eBook.

"You left. I didn't know where you'd gone."
He stepped past Alex, stopping only when his shoulder brushed mine. "I left when I heard your father get up."
From the corner of my eye, I could see Alex watching us, eyes narrow. "What is he talking about?"
Kale, apparently feeling helpful, answered for me. "I stayed with Dez last night. We took off our shirts."
I didn't have to see my face to know it turned a bright shade of red. Kale and I were going to discuss the appropriate level of sharing. Soon.
[Touch, page 132]

Jude Ryder wasn't only trouble, he was trouble with a side of danger and a dessert of heartache. I didn't talk the lingo of stereotypes, but I knew the path Jude was on and the one I was on would never intersect unless of of us forfeited our individual one to join the other.
I'd worked too hard for too long to allow mine to dead end.
[Crash, page 20 / position 236 of 3663]

What do you guys think of my picks? Have you read any of those books? And what teases do you have on offer this week? Tell me in the comments :)

Stacking The Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews for us to showcase any books we've gotten that week, be they gifted, bought, or received for review.

My book haul :) All of them are bought apart from Origin, which is a signed ARC I won in one of the author's competitions :D It's my first ARC and it makes me very happy and I just want to dig into it already ^^
Enshadowed, by Kelly Creagh
Black Heart, by Holly Black
Touch, by Jus Accardo
Uncommon Criminals, by Ally Carter

I've been meaning to read Touch forever, but whenever I wanted to get it, it was out of print or only available in an edition that for some reason was very expensive. I put of buying Black Heart for a long time because I was reluctant to buy it because of that dreadful cover change, but I finally caved. I hate that all 3 books look really different from one another on my shelves thogh :( This is such an amazing series and I would have loved to own them all in the same edition and format!
Enshadowed will be my next not-for-review read, just after I've re-read Nevermore. And by not-for-review I mean that I don't need to have it read or reviewed at a certain time, not that I won't review it at all ;)
I'm also looking forward to reading Uncommon Criminals because the first book, Heist Society, was so much fun! It's not top priority though; I have sooooo many unread books at the moment that choosing between them is making me crazy >.<
There are some more books that I ordered that are supposed to arrive hopefully soon... for example I got an email that Unspoken, by Sarah Rees Brennan, was pre-released and sent on its way, so I hope it'll get to me by release day / Tuesday!

It's been quiet here as concerns reviews this week. The reason is that I've read one book for a blog tour and can't post the review till next week, and I'm still on the book I started after that. It's been a bit slow going with my reading, but I hope my speed will pick back up soon!

What new books did you get? Show off your book haul and leave me a link so I can check it out :)
