Posting this somewhat belatedly... I have a lot of real life things going on that are very sad and rob me of a lot of my energy. Sorry if I'm not as active as usual.
This week's topic: Top Ten most anticipated books of 2013
No particular order
Have some cover-pretty!
- Phoenix, by Elizabeth Richards
I just finished Black City last Friday and I'm in love with the world and characters Elizabeth Richards created! I need to know how Ash and Natalie's story continues! - With All My Soul, by Rachel Vincent
Over the course of this year I have completely and irrevocably fallen in love with the Soul Screamer series. I'm so invested in these characters it's not even funny. I just need to know who makes it and what happens and how everything is resolved, even though sometimes I'll be doing the reader equivalent of watching a movie through my fingers as I cover my eyes because I can't quite bear to look but can't look away. - The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, by Holly Black
I recently re-read the short story of the same name, published in a short story collection called The Poison Eaters. A really unique take on vampires, can't wait for the full-fledged novel! - Dance of the Red Death, by Bethany Griffin
I want to go back to the world of this story, no matter how much hurt and heartbreak I might be in for. - The Indigo Spell, by Richelle Mead
I seem to list a lot of series-finals in this post... oh well. I just need more Sidney & Adrian. - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, by April Genevieve Tucholke
I've never read anything by her but the book just sounds amazing! - Sweet Peril, by Wendy Higgins
I've been pining for this since the moment I finished Sweet Evil. - Splintered, by A.G. Howard
I love Alice in Wonderland retellings and many bloggers I trust have given it amazing reviews, so I'm super curious about it! From the description it sounds awesome. - There's not been a title announcement yet, but I really want the sequel to Melissa Marr's Carnival of Souls! Not sure it'll come out 2013 'already' though...
- Clockwork Princess, by Cassandra Clare
I love The Infernal Devices, probably more so than The Mortal Instruments. I just want to know what happened already, and how the two series relate! I just hope the best for Will.
Much has been left out of this list. I'm also pining for Angel Fever by L.A. Weatherly, Untold by Sarah Rees Brennan, the last Nevermore installment by Kelly Creagh, a new Urban Magic book by Kate Griffin. As well as lots of others I've marked as to read that aren't out yet. But I think my top ten does cover the most important ones... probably. ^^'
What's on your top ten? Are some of my books on your list as well?
Ahh! I didn't even think about Clockwork Princess! Like you, I prefer The Infernal Devices to The Mortal Instruments - it's a minority position, for sure. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to next year!
ReplyDeleteEeeep what an exciting list! I'm definitely waiting on Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea and I wanted to feature it on my TTT this week but I ran out of room! Splintered is another I'm looking forward to. I also really need to read my copy of A Clockwork Angel so I can get excited for book 3 along with everyone else :D Thanks for sharing & I really hope life slows down for you real soon ♥

I'd love to get Richard's books, they sounds great!
ReplyDeleteLove the list ;)
Thanks for stopping by :)
I'm not sure which one I like more, The Mortal Instruments or the Infernal Devices. Here's the thing - I'm not a huge fan of love triangles, so it frustrates me with the whole Will/Jem thing. But I do really like them, because Cassandra Clare is amazing. But the whole love triangle thing makes me like TMI a bit more, I think.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I can't wait to read Clockwork Princess. It definitely made it onto my TTT.
Oh I love the sound of all the books on your list, especially that Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. That's a new one for me.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm dying for Bethany Griffin's next book and Sweet Peril, WAMS and Clockwork Princess.
And Holly Black is such an awesome author. I love her writing. Cannot wait for her next book. I still haven't been able to read the final book in the Curseworkers series because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Cassel Sharpe.
And there will be a sequel to Carnival of Souls? I'm so glad! I was worried about the litigation affecting that.
I'm sure quite a few of these will be on my YA list at year end. But I love your list. And those are some amazingly pretty covers!
Saying goodbye to Cassel was very, very hard for me as well! But Black Heart is simply amazing and I really liked the ending. I mean I'd love to know what happens a little after it but I'm happy with it as it is.
DeleteAnd I thought there'd be a sequel? Wasn't the suit only about the title? I mean they could just change it for the next book... if they even have to. I'm not so informed about that, but I assumed there'd be a sequel either way. I'm a bit scared now :S
The Coldest Girl and Splintered are 2 of my most anticipated books for next year too ... I think I'm excited about way more books than I can possibly read!

I'll have to add these to my list :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything on your list! I know I have several dozen books on my shelf I've yet to read, but I want all of these books now! :D Looks like 2013 is going to be even busier than this year was reading-wise, if that's even possible...
