Top Ten Tuesday: series I'd like to start but haven't

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week the participants post their top ten to a specific topic.

So this week's topic is about series we've been meaning to start but haven't...

and I have lots of them! Some are fairly embarrassing to admit. I'm not sure if this is the absolute top ten, but they are definitely among them...

  1. Percy Jackson. I kid you not - I've seen and liked the movie but still haven't read the books. I'll have to borrow them from my friend some time...

  2. The Forest of Hands and Teeth, by Carrie Ryan. Everyone keeps talking about how awesome it is, and I got a secondhand copy a while ago, but I still haven't felt like starting it...

  3. Under the Never Sky, by Veronica Rossi. Never really appealed to me that much until I randomly saw the trailer on Youtube one day...

  4. Poison Study, by Maria V. Snyder. Definitely want to read that one soon!

  5. Die For Me, by Amy Plum. The theme and setting sound great! But I'm kind of afraid to start it only to realize it's an insta-love story that follows one of the plots that have since been overdone in YA paranormals. It sounds kind of like Evermore, which I didn't like at all. But it could also be awesome... I'm on the fence.

  6. Abandon, by Meg Cabot. I'm a sucker for stories about the underworld...

  7. Graceling, by Kristin Cashore. Confession: It's actually on my shelf, but stupid me bought the German edition on a whim for a reason I can't remember... and I sort of hate German translations now, so I'm reluctant to start it. Maybe I'll give it to my mum and re-buy it in English or something because I really want to read it!

  8. Anything by Libba Bray. I've heard such awesome things about her writing! The Diviners sounds great, as does her Gemma Doyle series...

  9. Unearthly, by Cynthia Hand. I'm careful when it comes to Angel books but I always thought these sounded interesting...

  10. This one is kind of a compount... Something by Kelley Armstrong, Lilith Saintcrow, or Ilona Andrews. Haven't read any of them, but I think I need to go back to the roots of Urban Fantasy and their series sound great!
I could have added a lot more here! For instance JLA's Half-Blood series, or something by Andrea Cremer (though probably not because I'm honestly not so big on werewolves), or the Vladimir Todd books, Gallagher Girls... the list is basically endless and that is very depressing.

What do you guys think of my list? Have you read any of the series, or are they on your lists too? Maybe we can give each other recommendations :)

  1. Under the Never Sky should be on my list too, but somehow it's not! Yeah I knew I'd forget something. Anyway Unearthly is such a great series! :))

  6. Percy Jackson is on my list too (not on my top ten but on my list). I highly recommend Poison Study maybe not it's companion Glass series, but Poison Study and the other Study books were really good. And, the Gemma Doyle series was AMAZING.

  9. When you read Percy Jackson, you'll definitely be either disappointed by the book or disappointed by the movie. Trust me Carmen, they are totally different.
I want to read Poison Study too! I've heard such good things about that series.
Die For Me is instalove and it kind of is like Evermore in the way which the girl keeps thinking that they are not special, the guy they like/are dating is so hot so why would he want me? That drove me NUTS.
And I agree, I need to read something by Libby Bray. Her books are thick, so they are automatically on my to-read list. :D
Thanks for stopping by my TTT Carmen! (:

  10. I haven't read any of them, I have the first book on the percy jackson series but I haven't read it. I'm reading Under the Never Sky with the YA Blogger Book Club at Readers In Wonderland this month, I picked it up about three months ago and I hadn't had time to read it. I like the cover of Graceling, I sort of want to read but I still haven't decided. I'm interested in Unearthly as well. I've heard great things about Ilona Andrews so I think I should read them. I hadn't heard of the other series. I have so many books to read that I don't know when I'll have time to finish the series I've started.

  12. I only read the Percy Jackson books late last year myself! They're fun,a bit light or 'young' but as the series progressed I enjoyed them more. I've only read Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers Trilogy but I really enjoyed them. As far as JLA I've only read Half-Blood & it's prequel...but I am reading book 2 (Pure) now - LOVING this series :D

As far as series we BOTH want to get into but haven't yet: YES to Poison Study, Graceling, Unearthly AND anything by Libba Bray!! GREAT list all around ♥
