This week's pick:
Publisher: Amulet Books
Format: Hardcover, 384 pages
Goodreads description:
Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.
That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.
As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.
If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.
I really really cannot wait for this one!!! Ever since finishing Splintered, I somehow had the impression that there was unfinished business in the story. I liked the ending, but I felt there was too much potential left over... so I kept my eyes open. And BAM then there was the announcement, and later this cover!!! o.O Gorgeous. It comes really close to how I imagined Morpheus! I admit I'm still kind of rooting for him and Alyssa ;)
What do you think of my pick? Are you as impatient as I am? And what did you choose this week?
I still haven't read Splintered, but it looks like I have plenty of time before the sequel comes out =) Great pick!

Even though this cover is really pretty I'll pass this one as I'm not a big fan of Splintered! Great pick :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I felt the same way about the ending to Splintered. It would suffice, but I still thought there was more to the story. I'm not sure if I'm rooting for Morpheus or not. I love him, don't get me wrong, but I like Jeb, too. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI am excited for this one, too. I really enjoyed Splintered and can't wait to continue with the story. I have to say that this isn't how I pictured Morpheus, though. He looks so emo here. I pictured him as darker and...manlier. Oh, well. I'm still excited for the book. (And team Jeb all the way!) Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read Splintered, but I totally want this - for its cover (so purple!!)
ReplyDeleteThis cover makes.me.DROOL. I still have yet to read Splintered (UGH!) but I really want to and seeing this cover gets me even more excited :D Fab pick love!!
